Everything you need to know about Pennant Hoist and sovereign protocol broadcasting.
No. Pennant Hoist is strictly local-first. It runs on your workstation loopback (127.0.0.1:7420) or directly inside the native Windows desktop binary. All scheduled broadcasts, column states, and feed caches are stored in an embedded SQLite WAL database on your local disk.
Your secrets never leave your hardware. Nostr private keys (nsec), Mastodon access tokens, and Bluesky app passwords stay in an isolated, memory-scrubbed local keystore. There are no analytics pings, no telemetry trackers, and zero central SaaS middleman servers.
The Pennant composer features an adaptive constraint solver. As you type, dynamic meters evaluate ATProto's 300-grapheme ceiling, Mastodon's 500-character limit, and Nostr note specifications in real time, notifying you if a payload exceeds any armed station's limits before firing.
Through the Media Airlock engine. Attachments are hashed with SHA-256 and uploaded straight from your local client to destination protocol endpoints (Bluesky PDS, Mastodon instance storage, or Blossom servers) with zero intermediate proxy hops.
